TeacherLock standard kit is for jurisdictions where two operations to unlock and unlatch the door are allowed. Two separate actions are required to open the door with TeacherLock 1. This is suitable in States like Utah, Kansas, New Jersey, Louisiana, Ohio, Illinois, Hawaii, Tennessee, Texas and always subject the the local building authority. Generally, if the State uses the most recent Life Safety Guidance from the National Fire Protection Association (2018), then two operations are allowed.

For a single operation to open the door, please choose our TL2 option. For example, turning the door’s lever automatically opens TeacherLock with the TL2 Option. Some jurisdictions have not yet adopted NFPA101(2018) or use the International Building Code. In these jurisdictions, TL2 option is required. Purchasers may also request a building code variance. Please check with your local building official.
